缅甸语属于汉藏语系，藏缅语支。缅甸语是缅甸联邦的官方语言。在缅甸有大约2500万的使用者。在孟加拉、马来西亚、泰国、美国也有少量分布。
缅语是一种拼音语言，共有33个辅音字母，与元音拼合后，组成音节。缅语有四个声调，分别是：高平、高降、低平和短促调。缅语以仰光音为标准音。 缅甸文属于婆罗米系的文字，其书写特征是呈圆形。 |

是啊，目前这也是缅甸文信息处理最大的问题，vista的藏文、蒙文和维文都可算比较成熟的，按说好几千万人的缅文也该是有需求的啊，唉，只能期盼以后的修补版本更加完善吧 |

Burmese script
Origin The Burmese or Myanmar script developed from the Mon script, which was adapted from a southern Indian script during the 8th century. The earliest known inscriptions in the Burmese script date from the 11th century. Notable Features Type of writing system: syllabic alphabet - each letter has an inherent vowel [a]. Other vowels sounds are indicated using separate letters or diacritics which appear above, below, in front of, after or around the consonant. The rounded appearance of letters is a result of the use of palm leaves as the traditional writing material. Straight lines would have torn the leaves. The Burmese name for the script is ca-lonh 'round script'. Burmese is a tonal language with three main tones (high, low and creaky) and two other tones (stopped and reduced). The tones are indicates in writing using diacritics or special letters. Used to write: Burmese/Myanmar, a member of the Burmese-Lolo group of the Sino-Tibetan language spoken by about 21 million people in Burma (Myanmar). The Karen languages, a group of languages which are related to Burma and which are are spoken by around 4 million people in Burma and Thailand. Mon, a member of the Mon-Khmer group of the Austroasiatic languages spoken by something like 200,000 people in Burma and Thailand. 可以肯定一点，WIN7里面没有，Alphazawgyi在win7不能安装成功。Ekaya安装成功，但是出来的全是方框。研究…… |
